I just wanted to take a minute on this family oriented holiday to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving!
I have a lot to be thankful for this year, and I hope everyone does as well.
I'm stuffed, so I'm going to take a nap now!
See ya next time

Tis the Season To Be....Sick
Yes folks, I'm sick as all get out. According to my doctor, I have a severe case of Strep Throat, and apparently, this has been going around my local area. Now what is Strep Throat? Well here is wikipedia's definition:
Streptococcal pharyngitis or streptococcal sore throat (Strep throat AmE) is a form of group A streptococcal infection[1] that affects the pharynx and possibly the larynx and tonsils
Whoa! That's a lot of pretty big words. In easy terms, its a really bad sore throat that makes you feel like a bus hit you, and is VERY contagious. With that being said, that means I cant interact with Marianne or even worse, The Scooter!
I gotta tell you, this sucks! If you have ever been real bad sick, you know what I'm talking about. I can't do any of my normal daily activities. I can't go to work, or go for a walk, or play with The Scooter. Pretty much, I'm confined to the house while being fed drugs. The only good part about this is that I will be able to catch up on some TV watching. (which is a good thing because the DVR is getting pretty full) I would say I would do some much needed podcasting, but I can barely talk so that's out.
Needless to say, I will be down for a few days, but stay tuned, I will be back as soon as possible!

Finally Some Relief....
Today, Marianne, The Scooter, and myself went out to do some early Christmas shopping (and we wound up not buying the first present, but bought for oursleves). While we were out, I kept noticing this trend. The Gas prices were getting lower and lower. YES!!!!! Finally some relief is here from this gas crunch we have been in over the past couple of years! But for how long? And how bad will it be if and when it goes back up? I'm trying not to think about it. Right now I am enjoying "fairly" cheap gas.
Here is my deal. Right now a barrell of oil is about the same price that as it was 7 years ago. The gas price 7 years ago, if I remember right, waas around $1.25 a gallon. Now Im not a math whiz but, that does not quite add up. This is why I'm empasizing the word "fairly". It's not really cheap, but compared to $4.00 a gallon, it is. This is what I think the ultimate goal here is. Do you see the trend?
Regardless of what theroies I may have, gas is as low as its been in a while, and Im loving it, and taking advantage while I can. Go shopping, go out to eat, go on vacation. This will do good for our economy and you. So if your scared to leave the house because the price of gas is too high, I will leave you with this image....

Until next time

While I'm Here
It seems like I just did one of these, and thats because, I did!
This was on my mind, and I figured while I was on a roll, I might as well go with it!
I just wanted to say, I voted yesterday. And I'm pretty damn proud that I did. It's my civic right as an American. Did you??
My mother, for the last six months, has been "trash talkin" about this election, and I mean trash talkin! And after all of the talk that she did, yesterday I asked her, "So did you vote"? She then proceeds to tell me that only did she not vote, SHES NOT EVEN REGISTERED!!! I could not believe it!
The only way to make a difference is to vote, and if you don't vote, you have no buisness to gripe about who is elected or what they are doing. Even if the results do not fall in your favor, you can still be proud that you made your voice heard. With the above mentioned about my mother, I heard a lot of that going in this presidential election. People saying this about him and that about the other, but when the time came, they did not even go to the polls.
So if your not voting, and things are not going as you like, the only person you have to blame is yourself.
Until next time!

Sincere Apologies
Geez, I dont know what to say, but I'm sorry. Not only has it been almost two months since the last podcast, it's also been as long since the last post here. My only excuse is, "sometimes life gets in the way", as so stated by Tee Morris in the Podcasting for Dummies Podcast. We have had a good bit on our plates in the past couple of months with weddings, holidays, special occasions, altered work schedules, and some technical difficulties. It's only about to get worse with the major holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas)around the corner, but I promise that a new podcast is coming. Keep checking in, we WILL get better with the frequency of the Blog and Podcast.
So, so long until a very soon next time!

In Case You Did'nt Know
Hey Folks! Well I hope that everyone enjoyed the first episode....well I wouldnt really call that an episode, more like a prequil of things to come.
I'm posting this because I realize not everyone knows how to subscribe to a podcast. Some people dont even know what a podcast is. Now there is no shame in this. It wasnt too long ago that I didnt know either, but now Im a [very rookie] podcaster.
By Wikipedia, this is the definition of Podcast: "A podcast is a series of digital-media files, which are distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds for playback on portable media players and computers. The term podcast, like broadcast, can refer either to the series of content itself or to the method by which it is syndicated; the latter is also called podcasting. The host or author of a podcast is often called a podcaster."
Now to subscribe to a podcast is quite simple. All you need is a podcatcher. What is a podcatcher? You may have a podcathcer in your computer and dont even know it. The most popular one being Apple iTunes. My podcatcher of preference is Microsoft's Zune Marketplace. Both are free of charge, just go to http://www.apple.com/ or http://www.zune.net/ for the download. There are tons of others out there, but the best thing about these two is that you get a really good music and video store with both. Now that you have your podcatcher, you need to subscribe to the syndication feed (or RSS). Lets use the Zune Marketplace for example. If you look in the upper right hand side of this blog, you will see this orange box that looks like it has a wi-fi signal in it. This is called a chicklet. Why? I have no clue. Right click here, choose Save Target in th options. Then open the ZMP (refers to the Zune Marketplace). While in your collections, click the Podcast option in the top right of your screen. After this opens, if you are not already suscribed to any podcasts you will have an option on your screen to add a favorite podcast. Click this and a box will appear that says enter the URL of the feed. In the text box, right click and choose paste in the options. You should see what appears to be a long internet address. Click OK, and you're subcribed! Easy enough right? Well you can do it. I've already rambled longer than I wanted, so I wont go over the iTunes options here, but I will talk more about this , with the iTunes info, in the weekly audio podcast, so be sure to listen in!
Thats all for now....if you have any questions please feel free to post it here.
See ya next time!
